Outdoor Equity
Khmer Maine ensures outdoor equitable access by connecting community members with natural resources through programs that foster a sense of belonging and connection to the outdoors in the land we now know as Maine. These initiatives include organizing outdoor activities like blueberry picking, biking tours, and rock climbing, which provide opportunities for physical activity and family bonding.

Health & Wellness
Khmer Maine incorporates a trauma-informed approach by creating safe, supportive environments that acknowledge the historical and cultural experiences of the Khmer community. Outdoor trips are designed to promote healing and resilience by fostering connections to nature, building community bonds, and reducing stress.

Connection to Justice
In solidarity with the Wabanaki, Khmer Maine fosters understanding and connection by integrating education about Indigenous histories and land stewardship into its programs, such as visits to the Abbe Museum and shared outdoor experiences. All together, Khmer Maine hopes to inspire a sense of environmentalism and action for climate justice.
