Cambodian Dances Classes
People of all ages and backgrounds are invited to take part in introductory social dance classes taught by Khmer dancer Sokheun Sok and learn four basic social dances often seen at weddings and celebrations.
Pre-registration and orientation is on Saturday, January 28th, from 1-4. All are welcome to come and learn if the classes are of interest and can register then.
Classes are free. Suggested donations are encouraged!
Khmer New Year
Every April, the Cambodian community gathers to celebrate Khmer New Year during the end of the harvest season in Cambodia. The holiday is one of the biggest traditional holidays and many celebrate by gathering with family and friends, sharing food, playing traditional games, dances, music, and Buddhist blessing ceremonies.
In addition to celebratory programs offered to the general public, we are proud to partner with our local temple Watt Samaki Temple for traditional festival and parade.
