Khmer New Year
Khmer Maine works with its Temple partners to host a Khmer New Year festival in April. Khmer New Year is a major holiday in Cambodia, celebrating the end of harvest season. Farmers return home to relax and celebrate with relatives. While not solely religious, many engage in purification ceremonies, temple visits, parades, and traditional games. Unlike other Cambodian holidays that follow the lunar calendar, it is observed from April 14 to April 16 according to the Gregorian calendar.
